SEAN BALAKRISHNEN - SAFETY CONSULTANT

  • Sean was a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy trained on various Aspects of OSH including firefighting and the safety laws.
  • He has been in command of naval ships at sea and amongst his responsibilities was safety of lives,
    equipment and machinery.
  • He was also a government prosecutor who has prosecuted many cases on negligence to safety
    in general and OSH offences.
  • He has also been Head of the Anti Drug Enforcement and is familiar with the laws against drug related
    offences at the workplace.
  • He was also Head of Investigations into all kinds of criminal investigations including those against OSH.
  • As a Human Resource Manager and Group Human Resource Manager, he was exposed to a manufacturing environment where in the absence of an OSH, he performed the tasks of a safety officer.
  • As holder of a Master’s Degree OSH Management is a subject he studied.
  • In the private sector, he has been a safety consultant for about 10 years.
  • He has been lecturing on OSH in colleges and University Malaya for almost 10 years.
  • University Malaya had asked him to design a module on OSH for the institution in 2002.
  • He has attended numerous national seminars on OSH and has also been invited to present a paper in a seminar in Melaka in 1999 organized by NIOSH

Designed For Personnel From Supervisory Levels Up To Managerial Levels Including Senior Management Who May Be Required To Man The Operations Room. Members Of The Fire Squad, CPR And First Aid Teams And Security Personnel Must Attend This Course As Their Roles Will Also Be Made Known To Others For Coordination And Control Purposes As Well As For The Whole Organization Working In Synergy During A Major Fire.

OBJECTIVES

This 2-Day Course Is Centered On Fire As The Main Emergency. The Training Goes Straight Into A Contingency Plan With The Aim Of Business Continuity In The Quickest Possible Time After A Fire Or As A Proactive Measure, The Preparations That Need To Be In Place Before A Major Fire That Can Wipe Out The Business.

 

This Course Deals With Proactive Measures Such As Audits,Maintenance, Evacuation Drills, Exercises And Training The Relevant Men And Preparing The Relevant Machinery And Equipment For The Prevention Of A Major Disaster Through Fire. In Case A Fire Starts, The Course Focuses On Putting It Out While The Fire Is Still Small And Manageable. The Participants Will Be Trained On How To Conduct Drills And Exercises As Well As Organize Themselves Into Teams And Take The Necessary Actions In Case The Organization Is Faced With An Emergency.

 

Participants Will Be Exposed To Various Strategies, e.g. Prevention Strategy, Escape Strategy, Control Strategy And Organization As Well As Management Of An Emergency.

 

Video Shows On Occupational Safety And On Various Types Of Fires Will Be Shown To Enhance Understanding And Awareness.
