Mr Siva also conducts refresher courses for all levels of CSWIP-going Welding Inspector examinations, tailor made trainings for companies in both Welding and NDT. He is also engaged with TWI Malaysia and TWI Middle East as a freelance lecturer.

He is also involved with CadsWeld Training & Technical Services as a Consultant to review/monitor Welding Procedure and Welder Qualification Tests including NDT and Destructive Tests. Mr Siva is also a Principal Consultant for Lindenwood Consult.

Previously, he was a CSWIP approved lecturer with TWI Technology (M) (The Welding Institute) for 12 years having led a team of 14 lecturers (staff & contract) for SEA region for all levels of NDT, Welding Inspector, Painting/Coating Inspector courses. Mr Siva is an approved invigilator for both NDT and Welding Inspector.

During his tenure in the industry, he has held many positions from Consultant, Specialist, Manager, Third Party Inspector, Supervisor, Coordinator, Inspector and NDT technician (hands-on including radiography & film interpretation).

Mr Siva was also the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Welding and NDT during an audit in RAPID, Petronas.

Mr Siva’s vast field experience in both NDT and Welding will provide learners with added advantage of learning theory and applying it in real work scenarios complete with analogy.

FOCUSING ON
  • Introduction To NDT
  • Visual Inspection
  • Penetrant Testing
  • Magnetic Particle Inspection
  • Ultrasonic Testing
  • Radiography Testing
COURSE OBJECTIVES

This course examines the conventional NDT methods (visual inspection, magnetic particle testing, penetrant testing, radiographic testing, ultrasonic testing and eddy current testing). Advanced NDT methods including phased array ultrasonic testing and time of flight diffraction, digital radiography will be covered briefly.

The choice of NDT method in relation to materials, defect type, position and weld configuration will also be discussed. You will also learn about surface/sub-surface methods, internal examination methods and proprietary instruments.

The course is delivered with practical analogy and based on real life scenarios. Participants will leave the course being equipped with the knowledge of industry standard NDT methods to be applied in their respective industries.

AFTER ATTENDING THIS COURSE YOU WILL RETURN TO YOUR JOB…
  1. Being able to explain the principles of the conventional NDT methods.
  2. Identifying the advantages and disadvantages of the various NDT methods.
  3. Applying techniques learnt for enhanced defects detection capabilities.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND

General awareness/appreciation in NDT techniques is a course that provides you with an overview of conventional NDT methods, while introducing the theory on the basic principles for each NDT method

The course provides valuable knowledge of the specialised NDT industry and is particularly beneficial to everyone from entry level Technicians And Fresh Graduates To Engineers, Managers, Surveyors And Inspectors.
