SEAN BALAKRISHNEN has both public and private sector exposure in the field of human resource development and management and is equally conversant in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Having retired in the rank of a Lieutenant Commander from the Royal Malaysian Navy, he had gained vast experience in leadership, teambuilding, managing and training people for almost 25 years.

 

He was also a government prosecutor while in government service. He also gained extensive experience in people management, teambuilding, leadership and management while organizing and managing athletic meets at the national and ASEAN levels and as served as a judge in the 1989 SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur.

 

He left government service on optional retirement in 1995. In his pursuit for self-development and knowledge, he attended a course in entrepreneurship, qualified himself to be a lead assessor in quality with MFQ London in 1996 and obtained an MBA in 1997 in addition to the Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of New England he already has.

 

Sean’s private sector exposure as a Human Resource Manager and subsequently as a Group Human Resource Manager in a sales and manufacturing environment gained vast knowledge and experience as a trainer.

 

He does part-time lectures covering the full spectrum of Training and Development, Human Resource Management, Quality Management, OSH as well as on Security with the University Malaya and several other colleges in the Klang Valley.

 

He is currently conducting corporate training for business entities and still doing part-time lectures interalia in Training and Development, Human Resource Management, Teambuilding, Leadership, Security and Quality Management and OSH.

 

As a corporate trainer, he has trained more than a hundred companies from the private sector, government bodies and quasi government organizations via public seminars and in-house training. OBJECTIVE

Supervisors are the backbone of any organization and their management and supervisory skills determine productivity. Being implementers of policy, productivity and quality is to a large degree controlled by them. Therefore it is very important that they are trained and equipped with the correct management skills.

This 2-day course focuses on improving management ability by dealing with the planning of work, setting goals, directing and leading while it also deals with man management ability or people management skills, communication skills, leadership skills, counseling, delegation and motivation of subordinates. The training not only teaches them to manage their subordinates but also trains them to manage their managers better.

The aim of this course is to empower supervisors with the concept that they have the power to change things by virtue of their positions and make them realize their importance in productivity and determining the quality of the output. It makes them take ownership of their jobs and consequences. It is they who plan, execute and control the workers below them. Therefore they can make a difference in productivity.

The benefits include improved supervisory skills which in turn should improve productivity and profits of the organization. Industrial law requirements on supervision and counseling are highlighted and 2 industrial court cases are discussed in this course.
