Dr. Bhawani Selvaretnam, PhD

 

Dr. Bhawani is a Data Enthusiast with a specialization Text Mining & Data Analytics. She has accumulated more than 15 years of experience dealing with acquisition and mining of structured and unstructured data towards solving business problems in fully funded (government and private sponsors) analytics projects. She has taken lead roles in design and development of analytics models and frameworks that leverage on natural language understanding techniques.

Her team has earned Silver and Gold medals in the 27th International Invention and Innovation Exhibition (ITEX) for work on text analytics and natural language understanding in the development of an IoT-based Road Traffic Information System and a Smart Education platform, respectively.

 

Dr. Bhawani obtained her PhD in Information Technology, with a focus on Natural Language Understanding and Text Mining, from Monash University. She is a Professional Technologist, endorsed by the Malaysian Board of Technologists and a Certified Technical Trainer as provisioned by the Ministry of Human Resources, Malaysia.

 

She is currently serving as the lead Data Scientist and Director of Data & Analytics at a consulting firm.

INTRODUCTION

Human Resource(HR) personnel play a significant role in the building and overseeing the most important component of a successful organization, the workforce.
