MR. POOBALAN TANA SHINGAM brings over 21 years of extensive experience in accounting, auditing, taxation, and financial management. He holds a Master’s in Finance from the University of Sarawak, Malaysia (UNIMAS), and a Bachelor’s in Accountancy (Hons) from the University of Malaya (UM). As a Chartered Accountant (CA) accredited by the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), Mr. Balan is also a licensed Company Secretary and a certified HRDF Trainer for the “Train the Trainer” (TTT) program.

 

Starting his career as an Audit Assistant at B.L Tan & Co., Mr. Balan quickly advanced to become an Audit and Tax Manager. His passion for education led him to Inti International College, Subang Jaya, where he excelled as a lecturer in Accounting, Auditing, and Finance, later becoming the Head of Programs for multiple degree and diploma courses. Currently, he serves as the Group Financial Controller at Pets Corner Sdn. Bhd., under the Medivet Group of Companies.

 

Mr Balan rich background in the training industry includes developing and conducting a wide range of training programmes across Malaysia on Accounting, Auditing, Management Accounting, Taxation, Finance and Financial Management, Effective Way For Hardcore Debt Collection, Budgeting and Cost Control , Project Risk & Supervisory in Malaysia. He also collaborates with Authorities such as Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (LHDN), Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD)
and others.

 

Apart from Malaysia, he has also conducted training programmes in Asia such as India and Taiwan and also ASEAN region such as Singapore & Thailand (Globalization), (Introduction of Accounting for simple understanding) and (Introduction to Auditing).

 

In addition to his training endeavours, Mr. Balan has contributed significantly to academia, notably with his PhD research proposal on the Shadow Economy. He has also successfully implemented and led several specialized training sessions on Computerized Accounting Software.
