INTRODUCTION

Construction Contract Procurement is the process of selecting the right delivery method, contractors, and suppliers to achieve a project’s objectives in terms of cost, time, quality, and risk allocation. Sound procurement ensures transparency, competitiveness, and alignment of interests from the very start.

Contract Administration begins once the contract is awarded. It involves managing rights, obligations, payments, variations, delays, and risks to ensure that both Owners and Contractors meet their commitments. Effective administration protects against disputes, supports timely decision-making, and keeps projects on track until completion and closeout.

Together, Procurement and Contract Administration form the foundation of successful project delivery — influencing whether a project becomes a benchmark achievement or a cautionary tale.
