DAY 1

MODULE 1: DECODING THE GHG REPORTING LANDSCAPE

Theme: Building a solid foundation in the core frameworks and understanding how they converge, with a focus on the new global baseline from the ISSB.

9:00

THE EVOLVING WORLD OF GHG DISCLOSURE FRAMEWORKS RELATED WITH ESG
REPORTING

  • Topic: Introduction to GRI, SASB, TCFD, ISSB
  • Content: Deep dive into the purpose, structure, and key differences of each framework. Focus on TCFD’s four pillars and
how they form the backbone of IFRS S2.
  • Activity: Interactive poll & discussion:
“Which framework is best suited for
different stakeholder groups (investors, consumers, regulators)?”
10.45

NAVIGATING THE REGULATORY MAZE

  • Topic: Introduction to National Sustainability Reporting Framework (NSRF) and its
    interplay with global standards.
  • Content: Overview of how national regulations (e.g., EU’s CSRD, SEC Climate
Disclosure) align or differ from global benchmarks. The role of the NSRF as a
    local implementation tool.
  • Activity: Case study analysis of a company reporting under both a global framework and a specific national regulation.
1:00 Lunch
2:00

THE NEW GLOBAL BASELINE: IFRS S1 & S2 DEEP DIVE

  • Topic: Introduction to IFRS S1 General Requirements and IFRS S2 Climate-related Disclosures.
  • Content: Detailed walk-through of the core content and disclosure requirements of
S1 and S2. Understanding the concept of
    “sustainability-related financial information.”
  • Activity: Guided group exercise: Mapping TCFD recommendations to the specific paragraphs in IFRS S2.
3:45

WORKSHOP - BUILDING YOUR REPORTING FOUNDATION

  • Topic: Practical application of Day 1 learnings.
  • Content: Participants work in groups to outline a high-level reporting strategy for
sample company, deciding which frameworks to adopt and identifying key disclosures required under IFRS S1/S2.
  • Output: A structured reporting roadmap template.
5:00 End of Day1
DAY 2

MODULE 2: MASTERING GREENHOUSE GAS (GHG) ACCOUNTING

Theme: Moving from theory to practice by learning the standards and methods for calculating and disclosing a company’s carbon footprint.

9:00

THE SCIENCE AND POLICY IMPERATIVE

  • Topic: Global Warming and Climate Change; Climate Change Regulatory and Standards.
  • Content: A concise refresher on the climate science driving disclosure demands. Overview of the regulatory landscape forcing action.
  • Activity: Quiz on key climate concepts and regulatory timelines.
10.45

GHG ACCOUNTING STANDARDS DEMYSTIFIED

  • Topic: GHG Protocol vs ISO 14064: Key Differences Explained.

    corporate reporting.
  • Activity: Table-top exercise comparing
the structure and requirements of both standards side-by-side.
1:00 Lunch
2:00

THE CORE OF CARBON ACCOUNTING: SCOPES 1, 2 & 3

  • Topic: Introduction to Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3.
  • Content: Detailed definitions and examples for each scope. Emphasis on the complexity and importance of Scope 3 (value chain) emissions.
  • Activity: Brainstorming session: Categorizing various emission sources (company car fleet, purchased electricity, business travel, etc.) into Scopes 1, 2, and 3.
